The Falkland Stampede occurs every May Long Weekend in Falkland, British Columbia. There were bareback, saddle broncs, and roping events. I am testing out a Sony a6700 with a 18-50 f2.8 lens and so far have been pleased with the capabilities. The camera has exceptional autofocus but the AI tracking got a little confused with the horse and riders when there were people in the foreground. It handled the rain beautifully though, allowing the sparkling raindrops to show while keeping the cowboys in focus.

Although I would have liked to have a longer lens for this application, the 18-50 was sharp and quick and I was able to digitally zoom some of the images without much loss of quality. It also handles portrait photography exceptionally well with great bokeh and accurate focusing.
